CTCYM-Camp Hope

Reinforcements are on the way…

To get some perspective…

Last Friday, some of our leadership team went to Vancleave and met with Camp Hope director Curt Brown. What an incredible place!

Here are some pictures of Camp Hope and Vancleave UMC, where we will be staying during the trip
This is the back of the Camp Hope building. We didn’t take a picture of the front of the building because it looks just about the same. If it looks like a warehouse, well, half of it is (see next picture).

As you can tell from the last picture, the building is fairly tall. That’s to make the warehouse big enough to handle all the materials they need to have on hand.

While that’s all well and good, most of you wonder what the sleeping arrangements look like. I can tell you that if you’re thinking in terms of any previous CTCYM trips you’ve made, you may be surprise. Here’s a picture of the “dormitory” area. And yes, those sheets and pillows are provided by Camp Hope. You can bring your “blankie” or favorite pillow if you feel you need the added security, but otherwise, you don’t need to pack bedding.

When we’re not sleeping or working, most of our time will be in and around the church, which is a short walk away from the Camp Hope building via the “magic walkway”.

At the other end of the walkway is Vancleave UMC. This is where we will eat, meet and worship. Here is the dining area.
